Problem :
As the Head of the Social Media Team at Stichting Kümbet—a Turkish-Dutch youth center—I noticed our online presence lacked visual cohesion. Because multiple volunteers create content for our channels, there was no centralized design language. This resulted in an inconsistent look and feel across our posts, which weakened our brand recognition and made the design process inefficient and time-consuming for the team.

Solution :
To solve this, I designed and developed a comprehensive Brandbook specifically tailored for Stichting Kümbet. This brandbook establishes a clear visual identity, defining our official color palette, typography, imagery style, and post layouts. By creating this single source of truth, I successfully streamlined our design process, making it incredibly easy for any volunteer to produce high-quality, on-brand content quickly.

Challenge :
The main challenge was balancing the cultural duality of the organization while keeping the design modern and appealing to a diverse youth demographic. Additionally, since our team consists entirely of volunteers with varying levels of design experience, the brandbook had to be highly accessible. I had to translate complex branding guidelines into a simple, intuitive toolkit that anyone could adopt without a steep learning curve.
Summary :
By taking the initiative to create a unified Brandbook, I transformed Stichting Kümbet’s digital presence into a recognizable and professional brand. As the Social Media Team Lead, this project allowed me to combine strategic design with leadership—empowering our volunteer team to work more efficiently while ensuring our youth center communicates with a consistent, impactful, and culturally resonant voice.
